It's a kind of Magix - easy fixing of 20mm tiles with Tilemaster Adhesives
When fixing tiles to an external screed, it is important to make sure that there is full coverage between the tile and the substrate. Tilemaster Adhesives recommends the use of the Tilemaster Magix range. These high-yield, polymer modified adhesives have excellent wetting out properties, producing greater adhesive coverage on the back of the tile very easily, ensuring full coverage is achieved without having to work the tile too much, thus making the range ideal for installing 20mm & 30mm thick tiles. The adhesives are unaffected by frost after setting and can be used in areas exposed to water for long periods.
The range consists of two products. Tilemaster Magix-S is the standard set version. With its extended pot life of approximately 3 - 4 hours, the fixer has plenty of time to install the tiles and manoeuvre them once in place, making it ideal where longer working times are required, and the 16 hour set time allows for next day grouting. Where more speed is required, Tilemaster Magix-R should be used. This rapid set adhesive has a pot life of around 30 minutes and is ready for grouting after 3 hours.
A 10kg bag of Tilemaster Magix adhesive provides the equivalent coverage of a typical 20kg bag of sand/cement adhesive. This leads to a reduction in the weight of the adhesive used as the resulting mix weighs only 14kg and the lighter bags and mixed product mean less strain for the tiler - an important consideration when having to handle extra thick tiles. An added bonus is the low carbon footprint of the range as less product needs to be transported for the same coverage and the product contains recycled materials.
Tilemaster Grout 3000 should be used to grout the tiles after waiting the appropriate amount of time for the adhesive to harden. It can be used for joints up to 20mm thick and is impervious to frost once it has set.
