Paul Kelly receives TTA Lifetime Achievement Award
Tilemaster Adhesives' Paul Kelly has received the coveted TTA Lifetime Achievement Award. Presented by The Tile Association at its recent annual awards ceremony, Paul was recognized for his tremendous business achievements - underpinned by an absolute customer focus. The Association also acknowledged Paul's "perseverance in the face of adversity", having survived a serious accident at work in 2002 and an equally serious cycling accident in 2006; Paul went on to make a full recovery and now works closely with charities, including the North West Air Ambulance.
Paul founded Tilemaster Adhesives in 1990 in Chorley, Lancashire and the business relocated to Leyland, Lancashire in 2011 where it's still located today. In 2011, Paul's wife Rhona joined him in the business and five years ago his son, Mark took on the role of Managing Director. From starting by manufacturing one ready-mixed wall tile adhesive, the company now offers an extensive range of surface preparation and fixing products, "developed to help solve challenges faced by tilers and flooring contractors". It manufactures around 2.5 million bags of product a year and its UK team now totals 65. Last year, Kerakoll - also a family business - acquired the company and it continues to operate as a separate brand, with the Kelly family at the helm.
"For me, a personal bond with people is so important, because people matter. I felt truly humbled to receive the award and thank all of our friends and colleagues that have supported us along the way," commented Paul Kelly.
